Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Technician - Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including steam boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and emergency generators.
  • Install new electrical and mechanical equipment as necessary, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with facilities management and other teams to maintain equipment, parts, and supplies, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school course or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in industrial or commercial maintenance, or successful completion of UnityPoint Health's Facilities Apprenticeship program.
  • Valid driver's license and Second Class Engineer license required; CHF Tech Certification a plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
