Position Overview

The Senior Credit Officer at The Ladders is tasked with implementing robust credit policies and procedures that ensure a secure and sound credit portfolio. In collaboration with executive leadership, the Senior Credit Officer will establish both short-term and long-term objectives to create a credit portfolio that is diversified and in alignment with the overall strategies and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing credit management team.
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive credit policy that supports the organization's growth, safety, and market objectives.
  • Oversee and enhance an effective underwriting, credit monitoring, and credit assessment program.
  • Chair the credit committee on behalf of the organization's CEO and credit committee Chair.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to the provision and management of commercial and consumer credit.
  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on critical matters and strategic initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of client and organizational information.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing problem credits.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management leaders to communicate with key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and regulatory bodies.
  • Work closely with the Chief Lending Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operations Officer to ensure efficient and profitable operations.
  • Engage in community and relationship-building activities on behalf of the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably with 6 credit hours in accounting).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial credit is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Exceptional credit underwriting capabilities, including experience with commercial and real estate lending.
  • Strong technological proficiency and awareness.
  • Ability to create and present information across various formats.
  • Excellent interpersonal leadership skills and team-building abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively and foster professional relationships.
