POSITION OVERVIEW

The Head of Cybersecurity Operations plays a pivotal role within Rochester Regional Health, overseeing the operational aspects of the Information Systems and Technology Security Operations Center.

This position entails strategic planning and execution of threat intelligence initiatives, optimizing security detection mechanisms, managing threat notifications and triage, conducting investigations and forensic analysis, as well as orchestrating incident and critical incident response strategies, procedures, communication, and collaboration.

The scope of this role encompasses the entire organization, addressing all cybersecurity threats, incidents, and inquiries that may affect the enterprise, including those posed by external and third-party entities.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Management, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Information Security and cybersecurity is essential.

Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information from diverse sources, rapidly formulate and communicate hypotheses and recommendations to various stakeholders, facilitating swift decision-making and consensus-building.

Familiarity with relevant global standards concerning cybersecurity and privacy (NIST Cybersecurity Framework rev 4, ISO 270XX, ISO 62443, HIPAA/HITRUST, EU standards GDPR, NISD, Common Criteria, PCI DSS)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Threat Intelligence Management:
Continuously monitor and assess emerging threat intelligence.

Collaborate with managed security service providers (MSP) to incorporate threat intelligence feeds into the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system for the identification of Incidents of Compromise (IOCs) and configure alerting mechanisms.

Develop and disseminate threat advisories.

SIEM Engineering and Coordination:

Work in partnership with MSP and IT Infrastructure & Operations to plan and integrate log sources into the security incident and event management system while managing SIEM EPS licensing.

Collaborate with MSP and IT Infrastructure & Operations to design, implement, and oversee the security incident and event management system.

Engage with MSP and IT Infrastructure & Operations to evaluate log and alert coverage, system performance, and incident response, developing corresponding reports and metrics.

Work alongside MSP and IT Infrastructure & Operations to minimize false positives and enhance alert accuracy.
Incident Response Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive playbooks for various types of security incidents. Provide training to staff and stakeholders on these playbooks. Coordinate incident response efforts with relevant stakeholders (e.g., GRC, Vulnerability Management, IT operations, product line, R&D). Recommend adjustments to configurations, tuning, and other measures to prevent and detect future incidents.
Critical Incident Response Coordination: Lead critical incident response efforts with responsible stakeholders (e.g., GRC, Vulnerability Management, IT operations, product line, R&D). Conduct annual tabletop exercises to evaluate the response plan and train stakeholders.

Investigations and Forensics:
Execute investigations and forensic analysis as necessitated by incidents. Engage external third-party services for forensic investigations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

L - Light Work - Involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; may require occasional walking, standing, or squatting.


SALARY RANGE:
$140,000 - $170,000.00
The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate of potential base pay for successful candidates. It may be subject to modification in the future. Compensation is influenced by factors such as experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual agreements.
