Role Summary:
The Head of Human Resources will spearhead and oversee all facets of HR operations and methodologies, ensuring the organization attracts, nurtures, and retains top-tier talent. This individual will supervise a team of HR specialists encompassing Payroll, Recruitment, and Training functions. The position entails strategic planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits management, compliance with labor regulations, performance evaluation, and employee growth initiatives. The Director will act as a trusted consultant to the executive team, championing initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compensation, training, performance management, and the entire employee lifecycle across various locations.
- Oversee and administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and ancillary benefits.
- Lead the open enrollment process, developing and executing strategies, selecting benefits plans, analyzing usage for optimal offerings, and ensuring effective communication and engagement.
- Create a streamlined onboarding experience that welcomes new hires, familiarizes them with the company culture, policies, and programs, and integrates them into their roles effectively.
- Conduct comprehensive HR and Benefits onboarding presentations for new hires.
- Collaborate with the Training & Development Manager to design learning and development programs that provide internal growth opportunities for employees.
- Assist the Professional Development Committee with benchmarking, performance reviews, and compensation evaluation processes.
- Provide guidance to management on addressing and resolving employee-related issues.
- Manage and implement an automated employee performance review process.
- Oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees and partners.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for employees working in various jurisdictions.
- Maintain competitive and cost-effective compensation and benefits plans aligned with market trends.
- Address employee inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollment, status changes, and other general inquiries.
- Process and manage all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork in accordance with applicable laws.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices.
- Communicate updates to company policies and procedures to employees, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Consult with leadership on compensation strategies, goal setting, and succession planning.
- Investigate employee complaints or concerns and collaborate with legal counsel on complex employment matters.
- Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, or a related field.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence and build relationships with senior leadership and employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
