Job Summary
The role of Clerical Support is designed to provide a range of administrative assistance to designated administrators or departments. Proficiency in multiple tasks is essential.
Key competencies required to effectively perform the responsibilities of this position include:
operating standard office equipment and relevant software applications; strong oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; professional telephone etiquette; basic budget monitoring and control methods; and the ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of basic mathematics, including calculations involving fractions, percentages, and ratios is necessary. Understanding complex, multi-step written and oral instructions, as well as modern office practices and procedures, is also required.
Ability to utilize basic, job-related equipment is essential.
Additionally, the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals and groups, manage various types of data, and effectively use job-related equipment is crucial.
Specific abilities required to successfully perform the functions of this role include:maintaining confidentiality; adhering to deadlines and schedules; managing detailed information/data; and working effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Flexibility is essential to collaborate with others in various circumstances.
Requirements / Qualifications
Completion of an application and submission of a resume are required.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with the ability to pass a basic proficiency exam or possess an AA degree.
Prior clerical or secretarial experience is required.
