About the Role

We are seeking a skilled manufacturing professional to join our Optical Fabrication team as a Leader for the 3rd shift Advance Corrections and Metrology group. As a dynamic individual with a passion for manufacturing and leadership, you will be responsible for effectively leading the 3rd shift Optics manufacturing for AC&M operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Maintain alignment of individual, team, and area goals to department and company objectives. Create employee annual performance goals and coach and mentor your team of technicians for daily success.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop competencies within the team that focus on technical skills, continuous improvement, teambuilding, and cross-training. Anticipate resource requirements and allocate accordingly to meet shift goals.
  • Process Improvement: Facilitate identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within your area. Partner with Production Engineering to systematically improve processes for increased efficiency and product quality.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively to gain buy-in from technicians and influence department leaders. Work effectively with peers across shifts to meet goals and maintain production continuity.
  • Administrative Duties: Administer and enforce company policies and procedures in a direct and consistent manner. Work with Human Resources on disciplinary issues and hiring decisions.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree desired (in a science or engineering field preferred) OR At least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience OR 5 years of direct optics fabrication experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong manufacturing operation acumen. Ability to observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Work Environment: Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves for the entire duration of the shift. The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
