This position is hybrid, based in Cambridge, MA. We prioritize in-person engagement, cross-team collaboration, and community building to create a vibrant atmosphere for our students, faculty, staff, and research fellows. The role necessitates in-person attendance on campus at least three days a week during the academic year, with specific days and schedules to be arranged with your supervisor. The health of our workforce is paramount at Harvard University, and we strongly encourage all employees to stay current with CDC-recommended vaccinations.

Salary Range: $54,445 - $85,043
Note: Initial salaries generally fall within the lower half of the salary range, but are ultimately determined by the position's scope, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.

Work Schedule

9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday

Position Overview

Communications Responsibilities
  • Engage with tribal leaders, officials, executives, federal agencies, and media representatives.
  • Oversee program website, social media platforms, and mailing lists.
  • Collaborate with internal faculty, staff, fellows, and students.
  • Respond to general program inquiries and research requests through various communication channels.
  • Assist in the editing and distribution of publications.
  • Draft correspondence and manage mass mailings.
Administrative and Financial Duties
  • Prepare and manage all Corporate Card expense reports.
  • Process bills, invoices, and reimbursements efficiently.
  • Coordinate team meetings and appointments.
  • Maintain shared drives and electronic data storage.
  • Perform other clerical tasks as required.
Event Coordination
  • Participate in initial meetings and coordinate contracts with event-related vendors.
  • Manage agreements with hotels, convention centers, and catering services.
  • Arrange travel logistics for staff and visiting representatives.
  • Collaborate with vendors to create event signage and related materials.
  • Organize and distribute event materials, including sign-in sheets and nametags.
  • Support events by welcoming attendees and assisting speakers.
Faculty Assistance
  • Prepare course materials, manage course websites, and support students.
  • Acquire publications and research materials as needed.
