Position Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated Biomarker Scientist to advance our CNS Biomarker discovery initiatives. This role involves crafting translational approaches for new therapeutics, focusing on pharmacodynamics, patient selection, and understanding mechanisms of action. The Biomarker Scientist will collaborate closely with both scientific and management teams to ensure the execution of studies adheres to high scientific standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement experiments while providing expert knowledge in neurodegeneration pathways.
- Develop assays for precise RNA and protein quantification.
- Formulate and oversee discovery strategies and their execution.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret findings, troubleshoot issues creatively.
- Identify and manage relationships with contract research organizations.
- Stay abreast of scientific advancements and share insights with colleagues.
- Work alongside clinical experts to refine biomarker strategies.
- Effectively communicate across departments, including translational medicine and clinical development.
- Present research outcomes at scientific conferences and internal meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in academic or industry settings, particularly in neurodegenerative disease research, drug discovery, or assay development.
- Demonstrated scientific achievement through high-impact publications.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to engage in laboratory work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of motivation.
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing and troubleshooting high-throughput RNA or protein assays.
- Knowledge of extracellular vesicle isolation techniques.
- Experience managing multiple outsourced projects while adhering to timelines.
- Experience in progressing assays from development to validation.
