Research Scientist in Age-Related Therapeutics

Position Overview
The National Black MBA Association is looking for a dedicated and skilled scientist at the BS/MS level to contribute to our pioneering research in age-related diseases. Our focus is on the development of novel therapies aimed at understanding and treating conditions associated with aging. In this role, you will engage in exploratory research and drug discovery initiatives targeting age-related ailments.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize molecular and cellular biology techniques to advance research and drug discovery efforts.
- Implement a variety of in vitro methodologies to identify and validate assays, as well as characterize cellular disease models.
- Employ ex vivo techniques to evaluate preclinical and human samples for pharmacodynamic biomarkers and innovative readouts.
- Analyze and visualize data effectively to document study results and present findings to multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies through continuous literature review and participation in scientific forums.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an industry setting.
- Proficiency in in vitro techniques, including molecular and cellular biology, with experience in iPSC-derived models being advantageous.
- Familiarity with ex vivo/in vivo methodologies, particularly in biomarker and tissue analysis.
- Hands-on experience in developing and implementing various assays, such as cell culture, qPCR, IHC/IF, ELISA, and gene and protein analysis.
- Strong data analysis skills, including data cleaning, visualization, and basic statistical analysis using tools like Excel, R, Python, or Prism.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data to diverse groups.
