The Neuroscience Thematic Research Center (Neuro TRC) is dedicated to pioneering therapeutics for patients suffering from neurodegenerative, neuromuscular, and neurophysiological disorders. We focus on a variety of critical areas, including:

  • Identifying therapies that modify disease progression in neurodegenerative and neuromuscular conditions.
  • Developing strategies to enhance protein clearance and mitigate toxic protein production.
  • Leveraging emerging technologies such as RNA and DNA targeting to create a precision medicine portfolio.
  • Utilizing AI and machine learning for target identification and drug discovery in neurology.
  • Implementing neuroimaging and fluid biomarkers to monitor disease progression and treatment response.
  • Innovating delivery technologies for crossing the blood-brain barrier.

Position Overview:

As a Senior / Principal Scientist in Translational Discovery, you will collaborate with the Neuro TRC team to design and execute translational data packages that facilitate the swift advancement of drug candidates toward clinical validation. This role is primarily laboratory-based and will require close collaboration with various scientific teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to establish biomarker and assay strategies at both project and program levels.
  • Lead the selection of biomarkers for ongoing programs.
  • Engage in data analysis and interpretation, ensuring effective communication of results.
  • Oversee study design, quality assurance, and execution of external studies conducted through CROs or research partners.
  • Work with in-house teams to develop and implement study designs that support high-priority projects.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures related to biomarker studies, providing regular updates.
  • Prepare and review internal project reports and present scientific findings at conferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Life Sciences with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, preferably with a focus on Neuroscience, along with 2+ years in academia and 2+ years in industry.
  • Hands-on experience with immunoassays and molecular assays (e.g., ELISA, qPCR, RNAseq).
  • Expertise in identifying novel fluid biomarkers using advanced technologies.
  • Experience managing external projects with CROs or academic collaborations.
  • Demonstrated ability in designing and interpreting data from translational studies.
  • Experience in budget management for studies and projects.
