Mortgage Approval Advisor Job Description

Tri Pointe Homes Holdings, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Approval Advisor to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a Mortgage Approval Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth pre-approval process for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prequalify clients for loans prior to signing a contract to purchase a Tri Pointe home
  • Work directly with clients to obtain necessary documentation and verify information in the loan origination system, Encompass
  • Review documents submitted by clients to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Calculate income on complex scenarios, such as business tax returns or self-employment
  • Maintain updated communication logs and status reports in Encompass
  • Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems and submit loans to the appropriate local originator
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of state, federal, and investor guidelines for loan origination
  • Communicate effectively with clients, mortgage branches, and New Home Advisors
  • Manage personal production and ensure clients are updated throughout the process
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of processing or origination experience, preferably in a builder environment
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage products, including FHA, VA, and Conventional loans
  • Working knowledge of Encompass (loan origination system), recent experience preferred
  • Active Arizona license, preferred multi-state active license
  • Working knowledge of automated underwriting systems (LP, DU, GUS)
  • Strong overall computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office products
