Position Overview:

The Mechanical Integrity Engineer plays a crucial role within the reliability division, focusing on enhancing the performance and condition of fixed equipment at TPC Group. This position is ideal for individuals dedicated to optimizing mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to integrity protocols, promoting collaborative efforts, and maintaining a secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical assistance to Maintenance, Operations, and Project teams.
  • Support the fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring quality assurance and quality control, including after-hours support.
  • Oversee the design and monitoring of both code-compliant and non-code repairs.
  • Conduct corrosion assessments of production units and formulate mitigation strategies for areas with high corrosion risks.
  • Translate corrosion assessments into damage mechanisms and aid in developing inspection strategies.
  • Document the root causes of equipment failures and communicate findings across the organization.
  • Develop and implement asset maintenance strategies and plans.
  • Recommend enhancements for fixed equipment assets.
  • Utilize life cycle value analysis for repair versus replacement decisions.
  • Close reliability gaps through the creation and execution of reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Refine preventive maintenance and inspection tasks, identifying deficiencies and formulating corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with inspection and fixed equipment engineers to create a multi-year reliability enhancement plan.
  • Provide training to operational staff and craft personnel.
  • Document the financial benefits of reliability improvements and modifications.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement teams, fulfill assigned tasks, and conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to enhance operational availability.
  • Review and develop program policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to proactively identify and resolve reliability challenges.
  • Engage in the management of change processes.
  • Foster interdepartmental collaboration to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Exhibit a personal attitude and behavior that promotes a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mandatory).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed equipment within the petrochemical sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, API 510 & 570, ANSI).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory considerations for mechanical integrity of fixed equipment.
  • Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
  • Knowledge of RAGAGEP engineering practices and principles.
  • Awareness of inspection technologies and non-destructive testing (NDT) processes.
  • Basic knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP).
