Fixed Equipment Engineering Lead

INVISTA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fixed Equipment Engineer to drive Safety, Environmental, and Operational excellence from a corporate level. This strategic, autonomous position will be based out of Houston, TX with up to 50% travel to various plant sites as business needs indicate.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor to Site Engineers and Technicians, fostering skill development and expertise in fixed equipment maintenance and repair.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops at plant sites to enhance site capabilities and knowledge base.
- Partner with site resources to scope plan and execute work when there is an urgent need.
- Lead by example in the application of critical thinking, engineering calculations, and data analysis for fixed equipment to drive stable and reliable operation.
- Develop and implement strategic improvements to plant engineering programs, aligned with business goals.
- Provide expert-level advice, guidance, and challenge for complex engineering, maintenance, or repair challenges, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Collaborate with industry, peers, and business leaders to ensure the fixed equipment inspection strategies and standards are transformed by leveraging emerging technology while maintaining the risk philosophy.
- Strong willingness to travel, engage, and align with multiple plant teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Fifteen (15) or more years' experience in a Fixed Equipment Engineering role in a petrochemical plant with transformation and/or leadership experience.
- Willing & able travel up to 50% of the time as business needs indicate.
- Experience mentoring and skills development of other engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference for capability using engineering software to calculate pressure vessel calculations, heat transfer and fluid flow, Fitness for service, Finite Element analysis.
- Master's degree preferred.
