The Mechanical Integrity Engineer plays a crucial role within the reliability team, focusing on enhancing the performance and safety of fixed equipment at TPC Group's operational facilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert technical assistance to Maintenance, Operations, and Project teams.
  • Support the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Oversee the design and monitoring of both code-compliant and non-code repairs.
  • Conduct corrosion assessments on production units and develop strategies to mitigate high corrosion risks.
  • Translate corrosion analysis into damage mechanisms and assist in formulating inspection strategies.
  • Document and communicate the root causes of equipment failures to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement asset maintenance strategies and plans.
  • Recommend enhancements for fixed equipment performance.
  • Utilize life cycle value analysis for repair versus replacement evaluations.
  • Close reliability gaps by establishing and executing reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Refine preventive maintenance and inspection tasks, identifying deficiencies and crafting corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with inspection and fixed equipment engineers to create a multi-year reliability enhancement roadmap.
  • Provide training to operational staff and maintenance personnel.
  • Record and report the benefits achieved from reliability improvements and modifications.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives, fulfilling assigned tasks and conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to boost operational availability.
  • Review and develop program policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to proactively identify and resolve reliability challenges.
  • Engage in the management of change processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments to accomplish daily objectives.
  • Exhibit a personal commitment to fostering a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed equipment within the petrochemical sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, API 510 & 570, ANSI).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to mechanical integrity.
  • Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
  • Knowledge of RAGAGEP engineering practices.
  • Experience with inspection technologies and non-destructive testing (NDT) processes.
  • Basic knowledge of Maximo or other computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP).
