Role Summary

The Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Director of Commercial Services or their designated representative, taking charge of the procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate data and key performance indicators regarding supplier performance.
  • Prepare and manage requests for quotations.
  • Conduct qualifications and commercial evaluations of suppliers and their quotations.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage project or category purchase orders, incorporating feedback from internal and external stakeholders, management, and project teams.
  • Process amendments to purchase agreement terms and conditions.
  • Develop and uphold project supplier records, schedules, and reports related to meetings and supplier status, including unresolved issues, expediting data, delivery information, inquiries, and key decisions made during project execution.
  • Maintain regular and ad hoc communication with suppliers to ensure adherence to delivery schedules; conduct unannounced inspections as necessary.
  • Facilitate and report on the progress of supplier procurement activities, shop schedules, and shipping timelines, adjusting the frequency of contact and level of oversight based on construction deadlines and supplier performance.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and suppliers regarding scheduling and coordination of equipment, materials, and vendor documentation deliveries.
  • Promote success in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with suppliers, clients, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Lead and coordinate project purchases in collaboration with engineering and project managers across various projects.
  • Identify and implement integrated supply chain processes that yield cost-effective solutions.
  • Recognize and execute improvements to the supply chain through research, supplier relationships, industry insights, and best practices, focusing on cost savings, new technologies, innovations, and operational efficiencies.
  • Conclude purchase orders, including resolving supplier disputes.
  • Contribute significantly to the company's competitive edge.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, including at least 1 year in expediting or logistics.
  • Proficient in data-driven procurement software.
  • Familiarity with engineered equipment and materials.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems within an engineering and construction context.
Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.

  • Physical demands are consistent with those for sedentary work.
