Position Overview:

The Procurement Planner is responsible for orchestrating the procurement cycle, acquiring essential to moderately intricate goods and services, while optimizing cost savings and avoidance through adept negotiation and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops procurement strategies and drafts procurement plans, subsequently reviewing and endorsing recommendations post-management approval. (~15%)
  • Facilitates negotiation sessions, employing cost analysis and various commodity price indices to enhance value during discussions with suppliers and manufacturers. (~20%)
  • Assesses the total cost of acquisition and ownership for materials and services to ensure optimal procurement decisions. (~15%)
  • Transforms requisitions into procurement instruments to deliver cost-effective, value-added goods and services, aligning with customer and engineering requirements. (~25%)
  • Engages in strategic sourcing initiatives to manage the supply of goods and services from manufacturers, aiming to reduce overall supply chain costs.
  • Participates in trade compliance efforts to ensure supplier input aligns with compliance standards.
  • Contributes to company objectives through procurement-related tasks, recommending procedural enhancements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Certification as a Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is advantageous.
  • Experience with Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) certification is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of supply sources and material suitability in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt to market changes and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in business software applications.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in Supply Chain Management, particularly in a Petrochemical or Manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an office setting with occasional site visits to suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Regular physical activity including standing, walking, and the use of standard office equipment.
  • Travel may be required for meetings and supplier engagements.
