This role involves supporting facility and manufacturing operations across the plant, focusing on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control systems, along with life safety systems. Responsibilities include designing, budgeting, and executing improvements to processes and facility equipment aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and boosting reliability. Collaboration with Facilities staff, Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and external contractors is essential for preparing, coordinating, and implementing assigned expense and capital projects. Additionally, this position supports energy management and connected manufacturing initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
* Designing and implementing repairs or modifications to existing facility and plant equipment.
* Developing facility plans, layouts, and drawings for renovations, new construction projects, and new equipment installations.
* Coordinating project activities with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to ensure timely completion within budget and with minimal disruption to production.
* Generating work scope documents, soliciting bids, and selecting contractors as necessary for project completion.
* Serving as project manager during implementation and ensuring compliance with Kenworth safety standards for all contractors on site.
* Identifying opportunities for upgrading factory equipment or automation systems to enhance reliability, reduce costs, or improve efficiency.
* Assisting in the development of capital project proposals and executing approved projects.
* Coordinating and developing work scopes for external maintenance and contractor services, including mechanical services, HVAC, landscaping, fire protection, roofing, concrete/paving, and structural work.
* Providing support to maintenance technicians, process engineers, and production staff in troubleshooting factory equipment and control systems, including building management systems, lighting control systems, VFDs, PLCs, and other manufacturing control systems.
* Ensuring compliance with Kenworth and PACCAR policies, as well as adherence to applicable NEC, NFPA, Building, and Energy codes.
* Offering maintenance supervision support as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A four-year engineering degree.
* A minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
* The ability to manage multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities and job requirements.
* A solid understanding of building, electrical, mechanical, and industrial life safety codes and standards.
* Preferred experience with maintenance and testing of medium voltage electrical equipment.
* Hands-on experience with industrial controls equipment, automation software, Ignition SCADA, and PLC programming is also preferred.

The salary range for this position is between $96,700 and $137,600 annually. This role also qualifies for a comprehensive range of benefits as outlined above.
