The role involves ensuring adherence to Corporate, Division, and Plant policies regarding general accounting, inventory valuation, and internal controls. You will serve as a key business partner to the Renton operations, aiding in the strategic planning and execution of both short- and long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly journal entries as assigned
- Collaborate with department managers to prepare and review factory overhead budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis
- Assist in the monthly forecasting process for designated areas
- Oversee all intercompany transactions related to inventory transfers
- Manage the non-conforming part (NCP) Admin fee and invoicing
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of key reports prepared by staff for core leadership
- Perform monthly and semi-annual reviews for surplus and obsolete inventory, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Lead semi-annual interim inventory counts and reconciliations of major inventory categories
- Coordinate and lead factor studies across various categories
- Complete general accounting reporting, including Quarterly Census Capacity surveys and Corporate Tax requests
- Train and develop a qualified staff through recruitment and coaching
- Assist with periodic inventories and projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned
- Perform monthly fringe reconciliation analysis and annual projections
- Conduct annual SOX/ICAP testing as assigned
- Partner with the Assistant Plant Controller and Plant Accounting Supervisor to ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and SOX/internal controls
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting (MBA/CMA/CPA preferred) with over 5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory roles
- Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet internal deadlines
- Quick learner with the capacity to handle ambiguity
- Commitment to quality and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement
- BS/BA in Accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in PC applications (Excel, Access, Tableau, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
