Position: VDOT Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA

Interview: In-Person Only

Experience Required: 6 Years

On-Site Requirement: 1-2 Days Per Week

Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a robust background in managing Windows Server ecosystems, both in traditional and cloud environments. The successful candidate will possess a solid history in essential operations such as patch management, backup solutions, migrations, and the implementation of Active Directory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage Windows Server infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance in hybrid settings.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols, utilizing tools like Tenable, while ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Provide expert support for a variety of applications, including Java, .Net, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Deliver both server-level and custom application support, addressing production issues effectively.
  • Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure requirements and facilitate application deployment.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Windows Server in both on-premises and cloud configurations.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and infrastructure stability practices.
  • Expertise in performing regular system updates and patching to maintain security standards.
  • Experience in managing backup operations and recovery processes for critical systems.
  • Proficient in planning and executing server migrations, particularly transitioning workloads to cloud environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide support for production applications across various frameworks.
  • Familiarity with security management tools, including Tenable and SCCM for automated patching.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies, such as Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Networking certifications like Network+ or CCNA are advantageous.
