Compensation: The salary range for this position is $42,599 - $51,388 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This role is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Work Schedule: This position is designed to work on campus three days a week.

Role Overview:

The Marketing and Events Coordinator will assist in executing marketing strategies and event planning initiatives for the College of Business. This includes supporting programs such as the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative and the UCCS Economic Forum. The coordinator will collaborate with various departments to enhance internal and external communications, promote events, and manage content across social media and digital platforms. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications (40%):

  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of content across multiple platforms, including social media and email.
  • Draft engaging copy for promotional materials, ensuring adherence to branding standards.
  • Manage event registration and communications through the College of Business event platform.

Event Coordination (45%):

  • Plan and execute events related to the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative and other College of Business activities.
  • Oversee logistics, including venue selection, catering, and technology support.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for speakers and participants.

Project Management (15%):

  • Manage marketing requests and ensure timely completion of event-related projects.
  • Collaborate with various programs for effective event planning and promotion.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, or Communications.
  • At least one year of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Experience in event planning is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a university or non-profit setting.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and software.
  • Knowledge of event management software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks involving computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.
