Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Radiology Nursing Specialist (RN), you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, formulating care plans, and implementing and evaluating treatment.

As a vital member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the safe and precise delivery of care.

  • Formulate and adjust care plans based on patient responses to treatment, regularly assessing the effectiveness of the plan.
  • Consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and modify care plans to meet patient needs and objectives.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in line with practice standards.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients.
  • Offer educational materials to patients and families regarding care and treatments.
  • Demonstrate safe and effective knowledge of all equipment utilized in the Interventional Short Stay Unit as necessary.
  • Facilitate discharge planning in collaboration with the care team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Telemetry experience is required.
  • Recent intermediate critical care experience is preferred.

Education

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

License and Certifications

  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If holding a Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
