The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic information through the administration of radioactive materials and the use of advanced imaging technology. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Nuclear Medicine examinations following established protocols.
- Administer radioactive materials to patients in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure safety measures are adhered to for staff and patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures.
- Maintain equipment and perform quality control checks.
- Document all necessary information related to radioactive materials.
- Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer to uphold quality assurance standards.
Education: Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.
Experience: Preferred one year of experience as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a state license as a Radiologic Technician or equivalent certification. Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (CNMT) or equivalent is required. Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications are also necessary.
