Compensation for the Vocational Nursing Specialist
- The hourly wage for this role is $30.41.
- Comprehensive benefits are accessible to full-time staff after a designated period of employment.

Highlights of the Vocational Nursing Specialist Position
- This role is a contractual assignment with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position based on attendance, performance, and organizational needs.
- The position requires full-time availability, starting at 30 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 40 hours, and may involve working at various locations and alternating weekends.
- Operational hours are from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on weekends.
- The schedule includes 3-4 shifts during the week and every other weekend.
Responsibilities of the Vocational Nursing Specialist
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health issues, health counseling, and planning for patient disposition. This encompasses education and treatment related to pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, and safer sex practices.
- Administer vaccinations and injections (including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, and TB) and provide evidence-based counseling and education regarding vaccines to patients and their families.
- Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection services.
- Evaluate patients during the intake process.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs and retinopathy screenings.
- Conduct point-of-care testing, including COVID testing.
- Facilitate patient registration and intake, assist with waiting room management, and undertake other responsibilities to enhance the patient experience.
- Order necessary equipment and prepare the clinic to ensure optimal patient care.
- Contribute to our mission of supporting individuals on their journey to improved health by fostering excellent patient-focused interactions and activities.
Requirements for the Vocational Nursing Specialist
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in documenting within an Electronic Medical Record system.
- Capability to take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and conduct point-of-care testing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including skills in CPR and operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Ability to pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when required by protocol.
- Active and in good standing as an LPN/LVN in the state of employment.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Attendance is mandatory during the initial employment period.
