Job Summary for the Nuclear Medicine Specialist
This role involves gathering diagnostic information through the administration of radioactive materials and utilizing advanced radiation detection and imaging equipment. You will collaborate closely with healthcare team members to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient diagnostic study completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Nuclear Medicine examinations promptly, documenting necessary information and communicating relevant details to the primary physician and care team.
- Collaborate with technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to coordinate patient care.
- Assess patient conditions to perform radiology exams effectively.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients, ensuring their understanding and cooperation.
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
- Consult with other staff as needed to meet patient and family needs.
- Ensure the availability and safe utilization of clinical equipment and supplies, performing Point of Care procedures in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications for the Nuclear Medicine Specialist
Education:
- Associate Degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification:
- Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
