Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Lab Technologist to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
- Maintain and operate physiological systems, assist physicians during procedures, and perform unit-based activities.
- Assume responsibility for care of designated patients while on duty.
- Contribute to facilitating schedule flow in the EP Lab by assisting other staff to complete duties.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the maintenance and use of the crash cart and be familiar with the location of drugs, supplies, and equipment.
- Perform specified and general exams for diagnostic interpretation.
- Demonstrate competency and proficiency with use of the x-ray equipment.
- Maintain inventory and order special EP Lab equipment as needed.
- Gather and calculate quantitative and qualitative data to aid the physician in making a diagnosis.
- Maintain equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations, noted by documentation QC log books.
- Assess technology, methodology, instrumentation, and operation to ensure data is accurate and consistent with current standard practice.
- Coordinate the scheduling of procedures in the EP Lab with physicians and their office.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in Radiology, EP Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, or Special Procedures.
- Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program or Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Certified through Texas Medical Board and registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- BLS Certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- ACLS Certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
