Position Overview
Role: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) at Nuvance Health - Flexible per diem shifts available
Overview:
This role is essential in providing administrative and clerical support while facilitating patient care activities within a medical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Verify and maintain the accuracy of patient records, including personal details and insurance information.
2. Welcome patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and efficient reception experience.
3. Manage incoming calls, directing inquiries appropriately, and delivering messages accurately.
4. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, including testing and referrals.
5. Handle rescheduling for missed or cancelled appointments.
6. Process requests for medical records, including copying and billing tasks.
7. Collect patient co-pays and ensure proper financial reconciliation.
8. Coordinate retrieval of medical records for both new and returning patients.
9. Conduct audits as assigned to ensure compliance and accuracy.
10. Manage the intake and processing of medical documentation through electronic means.
11. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
12. Adhere to all compliance regulations relevant to the role.
13. Undertake additional tasks as needed to support the practice.
Qualifications:
Essential: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, data entry, and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Experience:
Minimum of six months in a relevant role.
Preferred:
Familiarity with practice management systems, experience in a medical office setting, and knowledge of MS Excel.
Compensation:
Competitive per diem rate offered.
