Position: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Office Assistant)

Location: Kingston, NY

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Variable 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Role Summary:

As a Medical Practice Patient Representative, you will provide high-level clerical and administrative support while coordinating patient care activities within our physician practice operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Schedule appointments and secure authorizations for tests, referrals, surgical procedures, and hospital admissions.
2. Manage financial reconciliations and prepare daily office deposit reports.
3. Cross-train to provide backup support for check-in and check-out processes.
4. Organize and maintain physician schedules, including meetings and inpatient rounds.
5. Oversee office supply inventory to ensure operational efficiency while adhering to budget constraints.
6. Engage in workflow reengineering and process enhancements to align with initiatives such as Patient-Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use.
7. Conduct audits and assist in tracking and reporting relevant information as required.
8. Serve as a super user for telephone and scheduling systems.
9. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
10. Ensure compliance with all responsibilities associated with the position.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Skills Required: Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, Data Entry, and Excellent Communication Skills (both verbal and written).

Experience:

Minimum of one year in a similar role.
Salary Range: Competitive hourly rate based on years of relevant experience.
