Job Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - Full Time / 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts
Role Summary:
The Medical Practice Patient Representative plays a crucial role in delivering clerical and administrative assistance while coordinating patient care activities within a physician's practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Verify and maintain the accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
2. Provide a welcoming reception for patients and communicate effectively and courteously.
3. Manage incoming calls, route them appropriately, take messages, and ensure clear communication.
4. Register, confirm, and schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals.
5. Handle rescheduling of cancelled or missed appointments.
6. Process requests for medical records, including copying, billing, and documentation.
7. Collect co-payments and ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
8. Coordinate the retrieval of medical records for both new and returning patients.
9. Conduct audits as assigned.
10. Manage the intake and processing of medical records and correspondence via electronic means.
11. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
12. Adhere to all compliance responsibilities related to the role.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, data entry, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred: Experience with Practice Management Systems, prior medical office experience, and familiarity with MS Excel.
Compensation:
$29.51 per hour (based on years of experience).
