Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at WMCHealth. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough and ongoing assessments of patients' mental status, psychiatric, medical, and social history to identify risks and develop appropriate interventions and desired outcomes.
  • Teaching and Education: Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to meet patients' present and discharge needs, and provide education on current evidence-based practices.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills to ensure quality patient outcomes, and create a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Treatment and Procedures: Perform all treatments and procedures in accordance with established evidence-based policies and patient care standards, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Documentation and Quality Improvement: Accurately and efficiently document patient information, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to achieve excellent patient outcomes and improved processes.
  • Medication Administration and Safety: Provide safe and effective medication administration, monitoring, and education to patients, and conduct hourly rounds to monitor patient progress and intervene as needed.
  • Supervision and Delegation: Accurately delegate patient care tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare team members, and supervise the provision of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the State of New York, or permittee.
  • Experience: Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice, knowledge of appropriate technology and practice standards for area of responsibility, and sound clinical skills.
  • Training/License: New York State Registered Nurse license required, or permittee.
