As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential clerical and administrative support while coordinating patient care activities within our physician practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
2. Welcome patients and communicate effectively and courteously.
3. Manage phone communications, route calls, take messages, and ensure clear information exchange.
4. Register, verify, and schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals.
5. Handle rescheduling of cancelled or missed appointments.
6. Process record requests, including copying, billing, and documentation.
7. Collect co-payments and reconcile funds for deposit.
8. Obtain and coordinate retrieval of records for both new and returning patients.
9. Conduct audits as assigned.
10. Manage the intake and processing of medical records and correspondence via electronic fax.
11. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
12. Adhere to all compliance responsibilities related to the role.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, data entry, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Preferred: Six months of experience in a similar role. Familiarity with practice management systems, medical office operations, and MS Excel.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $29.51, commensurate with years of experience. Nuvance Health is an equal opportunity employer, including individuals with disabilities and veterans.
