Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Operations Director to join our team at SGL Carbon. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational activities of our medium-sized plant, ensuring the production of high-quality products while meeting shipping requirements and sales commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plant, including production, materials, quality control, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of employees, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the business.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Communication and Reporting: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and senior management, providing regular updates and reports on plant performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, engineering, or materials science.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations management role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with business and management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
