Position Overview:

SENIOR TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGER


WHAT IS THE ROLE? This position is accountable for the strategic planning and successful execution of extensive and/or intricate technology initiatives within a designated business unit, while leading cross-functional project teams responsible for various components of these initiatives.

This entails establishing technology project governance frameworks and delivery strategies to achieve defined business objectives.

The role is critical in steering and monitoring project activities, timelines, scope, and financials, while effectively communicating with all stakeholders involved.

The success of technology project outcomes will be evaluated based on the extent to which the initiative meets timeline expectations, budget constraints, and defined scope.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently oversees multiple highly complex long-term projects and/or programs that significantly influence business processes and technology utilized across the organization.

• Shapes strategic direction and formulates tactical plans with considerable discretion.

• Delivers comprehensive solutions to intricate challenges and maintains extensive interactions with internal clients and business units.

• Manages complex projects and programs from inception and requirements gathering to project planning and execution, leveraging broad input from industry and/or business unit experts.

• Oversees intricate project, program, and/or portfolio budgets independently.

• Drives and manages project, program, and/or portfolio activities to achieve objectives, budgetary limits, quality standards, and timelines.

• Conducts project risk assessments, identifying key risk factors, proposing effective mitigation strategies, and assigning contingency plans to both schedules and budgets.


• Manages projects and teams by applying established methodologies, utilizing change control processes; tracking time and activities with defined scheduling tools; monitoring financials; coordinating resource acquisition and utilization; serving as a liaison with internal stakeholders and external vendors; and maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders.

• Engages with all levels of management throughout the organization.

• Demonstrates creativity in designing solutions to challenges.

• Prepares formal reports and presentations for senior and executive management.

• Establishes effective governance structures and routines that align with strategic goals, existing project portfolios, and multi-divisional impacts.

• Contributes positively to team efforts and proposes innovative solutions to complex challenges.

• Recognized as a trusted mentor and leader within the organization, serving as a credible role model for junior staff and peers.

• Leads the selection and implementation of solutions that impact critical organizational units or functions.

• Participates in long-term planning and development of application or product roadmaps with business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• Proven track record in managing complex technical projects in a dynamic environment.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing highly complex technical projects involving large teams.

• At least 2 years of experience in technical program and/or portfolio management.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

• 2 or more years of experience in the banking or financial services industry preferred.

• PMP certification is preferred.

• Agile Scrum Master Certification is preferred.

• 2 years of Agile Scrum Master experience preferred.


• Expert professional with profound expertise or unique industry knowledge, utilizing skills to contribute to the development of organizational objectives and principles, achieving goals in innovative and effective manners.

• Develops solutions to critical issues and broad matters.

• Recognized as an authority within the organization, both within and beyond their own function.

• Preferred to possess industry knowledge to support the design and/or vendor product selection to address organization-wide challenges or enhancements.

• Must have extensive knowledge of program management methodologies, project management tools, and techniques across all project activities.

• Exceptional presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a straightforward and logical manner.

• Well-developed analytical skills with a proven ability to clarify complex issues and synthesize substantial amounts of information.

• Proficient in creating intricate MS Project plans, MS PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets.

Compensation:
Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
