Position Overview

This role requires a commitment to onsite collaboration. As a Program Manager, you will oversee extensive, intricate enterprise-level initiatives and interconnected project collections that support comprehensive business sectors. Success in this position hinges on establishing robust partnerships with high-level executives beyond the technology sphere.

Your responsibilities will include managing a subset of the overall Ecommerce portfolio. Within this subset, your duties will encompass: (i) developing the annual project roadmap in collaboration with Product and Delivery leaders; (ii) gathering weekly updates on active projects from fellow project managers and escalating any urgent issues to leadership; (iii) monitoring and controlling expenditures against the allocated budget for the sub-portfolio.

You will engage directly with team members and senior executives, steering projects with resources who are co-located and accountable for engineering and testing within their respective areas. By collaborating with project management and scrum masters, you will guide and support your teams to deliver exceptional solutions for our clients.

As the Program Manager, you will facilitate multiple projects, ensuring continuous communication among your teams throughout the program lifecycle. Your ability to influence and motivate will be crucial in coaching team members to achieve their full potential, delivering results on schedule and within budget, thereby maximizing our investment returns. You will be tasked with conveying the value of ongoing work to senior leadership and outlining necessary elements for risk management and overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage program roadmaps in partnership with business and technology leaders.
  • Connect technology delivery decisions with business impact assessments.
  • Comprehend and manage the relationship between daily program activities and overall program results.
  • Utilize your financial modeling and management expertise to transparently showcase successful program outcomes.
  • Define the risk profile with suitable mitigation strategies and stakeholder responsibilities.
  • Oversee program communications across all levels of Technology and Business stakeholders.

Identify and address obstacles to team progress, escalating to senior leadership when necessary.

  • Manage team velocity and timelines while exploring methods to enhance efficiency, estimation, and quality.
  • Safeguard the integrity of the teams and their velocity from unnecessary external pressures.
  • Guide the team in continuously improving communication, processes, estimation, quality, and velocity.

Qualifications

  • Possess an MBA and/or BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Have 15 years or more of experience in business processes, software delivery, or a related field.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrate a track record of delivering programs with measurable business impact.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the development and delivery of high-quality software in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial energy and the ability to devise solutions to challenges faced by your teams.
  • Communicate clearly with the ability to translate business strategies into actionable delivery plans.
  • Act as a coach, fostering your teams to perform at their highest potential.
  • Utilize tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack effectively.
  • Excel at coaching teams to achieve business and technology objectives.
  • Be a leader who influences others towards the right decisions.
  • Hold relevant certifications or equivalent experience, including Scrum certification (ideally CSP, at least CSM, and preferably SAFe) and PMP certification or similar project management credentials.
