Position Overview:

The School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center is actively seeking a candidate who will enhance our climate of diversity and inclusivity. We invite applications for a faculty role within the Division of Urogynecology. This is a full-time faculty position that offers an open rank and track within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Urogynecology Division is well-established, featuring a robust clinical practice, active research initiatives, and a fellowship program.

The successful candidate will engage in clinical teaching and research at various clinics, both on and off campus. The Division hosts an accredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, aimed at training proficient subspecialist physicians who are knowledgeable in the surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor. Under the mentorship of our experienced faculty, fellows will develop their teaching and research skills in pelvic floor disorders, paving the way for successful academic careers. The Division of Urogynecology also operates a dedicated pessary clinic that focuses on non-surgical treatments for women experiencing prolapse and incontinence. Furthermore, the Division encourages innovative research opportunities, supported by a team of research coordinators.

We are in search of a highly motivated and academically oriented physician. The selected individual will be expected to contribute to the education and surgical training of medical students, residents, and fellows in various settings, including clinics, classrooms, and operating rooms. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico, State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching students and residents
  • MIGS Certification
  • Clinical skills and scholarly activity
  • Experience in a managed care environment
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary setting
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as experience working with diverse communities.
