Position Overview:

We are actively seeking a candidate for a faculty position within the Division of Urogynecology. This is a full-time faculty role that can be filled at any rank within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Urogynecology Division is well-established, featuring a busy clinical practice, a fellowship program, and a commitment to research and education.

The successful candidate will engage in clinical teaching and research at various clinics. Our Division hosts an accredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, aimed at training proficient subspecialist physicians skilled in the surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor. With the mentorship of our faculty, fellows will cultivate teaching and research expertise in pelvic floor disorders, supporting their development into successful academic professionals.

Furthermore, the Division of Urogynecology operates a dedicated pessary clinic that focuses on providing care for women experiencing prolapse and incontinence who prefer non-surgical interventions. We also encourage innovative research opportunities, supported by a team of research coordinators. We are looking for a highly motivated and academically inclined physician who will contribute to the education and surgical training of medical students, residents, and fellows in various settings, including clinics, classrooms, and operating rooms. The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is the largest academic health complex in the state, integrating education, research, patient care, and community outreach to deliver exceptional healthcare to New Mexicans. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico, State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching students and residents
  • MIGS Certification
  • Clinical skills and scholarly activity
  • Experience in a managed care environment
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary setting
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as experience working with diverse communities.
