Position Overview:
The University of New Mexico is dedicated to fostering an inclusive academic environment that supports the success of diverse populations. We are seeking a qualified candidate for a faculty position within the Division of Urogynecology. This is a full-time, open rank, open track faculty role in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Urogynecology Division boasts an established fellowship program, a robust clinical practice, and active engagement in research and education.
The successful candidate will engage in clinical teaching and research at various clinics. The Division hosts an accredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, aimed at training proficient subspecialist physicians with expertise in surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor. Under the mentorship of our faculty, fellows will develop teaching and research skills in pelvic floor disorders, facilitating their academic career growth.
Additionally, the Division of Urogynecology features a dedicated pessary clinic that focuses on non-surgical treatment options for women experiencing prolapse and incontinence. We also encourage innovative research initiatives, supported by a team of research coordinators.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and well-trained physician with a strong academic focus. Responsibilities include educating and training medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings, classrooms, and operating rooms, while also providing surgical training opportunities.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico, State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration
- Experience in teaching students and residents
- MIGS Certification
- Clinical skills and scholarly activity
- Experience in a managed care environment
- Experience in a multidisciplinary setting
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with diverse communities
