Position Overview:

The School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center is seeking a qualified candidate to enhance our climate of diversity and inclusivity. We invite applications for a faculty role within the Division of Urogynecology. This is a full-time faculty position with open rank and track in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Urogynecology Division is known for its established fellowship, robust clinical practice, and active engagement in research and education.

The successful candidate will engage in clinical teaching and research at various clinics. The Division hosts an accredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, aiming to cultivate well-rounded, subspecialist physicians proficient in the surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor. Under the mentorship of our faculty, fellows will develop expertise in teaching and research related to pelvic floor disorders, contributing to their academic careers. The Division of Urogynecology also operates a dedicated pessary clinic, focusing on non-surgical treatment options for women experiencing prolapse and incontinence. Additionally, the Division welcomes innovative research opportunities supported by a team of research coordinators.

We seek a highly motivated and academically oriented physician for this role. The incumbent will be responsible for educating and training medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings, classrooms, and operating rooms, while also providing surgical training opportunities. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, along with experience working with diverse communities, is essential.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
  • Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in New Mexico, State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching students and residents
  • MIGS Certification
  • Clinical skills and scholarly activity
  • Experience in a managed care environment
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary setting
