Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a qualified Allergy and Immunology specialist to enhance the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Allergy Medicine. This division serves a unique patient population in a diverse and underserved area. As the sole academic medical center in the state, there are ample opportunities for innovation in education and patient care, catering to both rural and urban communities from various cultural backgrounds. The position will primarily be based in the outpatient clinic of the University of New Mexico Hospital, with daily patient interactions and opportunities to engage in clinical trials.
This multidisciplinary section boasts robust fellowship programs in Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, and we are looking for an academically inclined candidate to contribute to our mission. The position is available at an Open Rank level on the Clinician Educator track, with salary determined by experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Allergy/Immunology
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional medical care for Allergy disorders, particularly in adult patients
- Experience in educating residents and medical students
- Evidence of scholarly activities
- A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, with experience working in diverse communities
