The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly qualified tenure-track faculty member to join our team in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Center on Alcohol, Substance Use and Addictions (CASAA). This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track or tenured appointment targeted to begin in the near future.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in the addictions field, with a focus on human research on alcohol or other substance use, and/or other addictive behaviors.
- Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on courses related to behavioral sciences and public health.
- Collaborate with CASAA investigators and other faculty members at UNM to advance research and teaching missions.
- Secure extramural funding and publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals.
- Ph.D. in behavioral sciences, public health, health-related disciplines, or mathematics/statistics by the time of appointment.
- Strong potential for extramural funding and a record of peer-reviewed publications in the addictions field.
- Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on designing and teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ability to collaborate with other faculty members and investigators at UNM.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on working with broadly diverse communities.
