Job Summary

The University of New Mexico School of Law invites applications for a faculty position teaching Evidence, Trial Practice, and related topics. This faculty position is a full-time tenured or tenure-track position starting in Fall 2025.

About the Position

We seek candidates with scholarly distinction or promise, as well as a commitment to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Evidence, Trial Practice, and related topics, as well as contribute to the development of the law school's curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Evidence, Trial Practice, and related topics to law students
  • Contribute to the development of the law school's curriculum
  • Engage in scholarly research and writing
  • Participate in service activities, such as committee work and student advising
Qualifications

Candidates must possess a J.D. or equivalent legal degree. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Two years of post-J.D. legal work experience
  • Demonstrated scholarly research and writing ability
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching in diverse settings
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members or other professional colleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment to service
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equality, inclusion, and student success
