Position Title: Event Sales Manager / Senior Event Sales Manager (DOE)

Job Location: This role is based in Denver, CO, and requires candidates to reside in or near the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), collaborating with current clients and hotel partners to create, propose, and finalize event programs.
  • Ensure timely responses to incoming inquiries for group business, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround.
  • Craft innovative proposals, contracts, and site inspection materials tailored to specific client needs and RFP requirements.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with local vendors, including activity providers, restaurants, and venue operators.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the annual sales strategy, aligning with revenue targets and objectives set by the Executive Team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various client types, including corporate, association, and incentive clients, as well as hotel partners.
  • Lead site inspections as the primary sales representative when required.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell RMC services to clients when appropriate.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of RMC's product offerings, including pricing, descriptions, and themed events.
  • Demonstrate strong client relationship management skills to foster repeat business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in sales or business development.
  • Experience in the Destination Management or hospitality sector is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills are essential.
