Position Overview

The Venue Sales Representative serves as a key ambassador for Denver Botanic Gardens, showcasing our distinctive offerings to guests and potential clients.

This role involves managing the sales and execution of private events hosted at the Gardens. Responsibilities include conducting sales tours of the venue, implementing departmental sales strategies from initial inquiry through to successful event completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts, negotiate contracts, and achieve revenue targets through proactive sales efforts.
  • Act as the on-site representative during events, ensuring a positive and solution-oriented experience for clients and guests.
  • Coordinate client meetings, site visits, and event execution to ensure seamless operations.
  • Guide sales leads through each stage of the sales process, maintaining positive relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and email promptly, creating proposals, contracts, and detailed floor plans for events.
  • Oversee event logistics, ensuring compliance with Gardens policies and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Maintain communication with security and management regarding any unusual circumstances or safety concerns.
  • Ensure all event setups align with client contracts and accommodate last-minute adjustments as needed.
  • Check deliveries for accuracy and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely service.
  • Complete necessary paperwork following each event and report any property damage to management.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with colleagues and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and customer service abilities. A flexible schedule is essential, with availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Experience in managing multiple large events simultaneously is crucial, along with proven customer service and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt plans as necessary throughout the day.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams is required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or the recreation industry is preferred, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be necessary, with the ability to reach remote locations where environmental conditions may vary.
