Position Overview

As a key contributor to the U.S. Navy's operational readiness, you will play a vital role in evaluating and enhancing the material state of naval vessels' Combat Systems and Supply/Habitability sectors. Serco offers an exciting opportunity for professionals committed to training and assessment within the Navy's framework.

Our team provides specialized material evaluation support and crew training for U.S. Navy ships stationed in various fleet concentration areas. Team members are instrumental in preparing ship crews for critical inspections and evaluations.

The Marine Engineering Analyst position is part of a dynamic group of Navy Subject Matter Experts based in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver focused material assessment and training for U.S. Navy ships, ensuring readiness for inspections and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Surface Type Commanders to support readiness evaluations and inspections.
  • Analyze equipment trends and provide actionable recommendations for improvement in maintenance and planning.
  • Engage directly with ship personnel to prioritize maintenance actions and enhance material conditions.
  • Prepare detailed assessments of material readiness and crew proficiency, contributing to inspection preparation.
  • Recommend additional support as necessary and participate in post-evaluation reviews to capture insights for future enhancements.
  • Draft and submit technical feedback reports to support fleet readiness initiatives.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will need:
  • A BA/BS or Associate degree, along with 3 years of relevant experience within the last 5 years.
    • In certain cases, educational qualifications may be adjusted based on extensive relevant experience.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience in providing advanced training and assessments.
  • A willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Recent experience in operating or maintaining Combat Systems or Supply/Habitability equipment.
  • Retired E7/E8 personnel.
  • Experience as an Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
