Currently, we are looking for a dedicated and career-focused Nuclear Ship's Propulsion Engineer to be part of our team.

Position Overview:
This role encompasses the overall responsibility for the planning, preparation, development, validation, execution, and lifecycle management of propulsion systems aimed at ensuring Carrier readiness and modernization. The engineer will be accountable for specific tasks related to US Nuclear Aircraft Carrier (CVN) vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in discussions and conferences to offer insights and recommendations regarding CVN propulsion system readiness.
  • Provide guidance on CVN policies and procedural adjustments necessary for maintaining readiness, outfitting for new constructions, and supporting new naval programs.
  • Evaluate the maintenance, modernization, and repair processes for CNO availabilities and upkeep tasks.
  • Support the Ship's Force in sustaining the material readiness of CVN ships and identifying necessary maintenance availability work.
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze historical and current maintenance data from aircraft carrier sources to develop statistical, graphical, and textual analyses of equipment reliability and maintenance trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in Naval Nuclear Propulsion on aircraft carriers, possessing strong knowledge of hull, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Eight (8) years of practical knowledge of Nuclear policies, procedures, and practices related to CVNs, which can be in conjunction with the above experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience collaborating with naval personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • Recent experience working directly with government CVN teams.
  • Background in analyzing and assessing Nuclear Ships to provide maintenance action recommendations to the Maintenance Program Manager.
  • Familiarity with Navy Data Environment (NDE) for Ship Change Documents (SCD).
  • Experience identifying system and equipment deficiencies to ensure appropriate actions are taken when warranted.
  • Knowledge of Steam Plant Action Requests (SPAR), Steam Plant Liaison Inquiries (SPLI), and Liaison Action Requests (LAR) for critical information updates.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance; Interim Clearance is acceptable to start.

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual in this role must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Ability to manipulate standard office equipment, including computers and files.
  • Occasionally move within the office to access file cabinets and communicate with colleagues.
  • Must be capable of climbing ladders and navigating shipboard environments as necessary.
