Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the vulnerabilities of existing information systems to establish a comprehensive risk management strategy.
- Utilize automated tools and systems (such as VMWare and various Operating Systems) to monitor and report on information assurance compliance.
- Supervise the execution of strategic initiatives to ensure that organizational protocols align with cybersecurity standards.
- Lead projects focused on information assurance to guarantee the security of computer systems.
- Leverage expertise in VMWare and Operating Systems to mentor junior staff on IT issues and the interpretation of relevant policies.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess at least one year of experience in information technology within federal service or the private/public sector, demonstrating the following competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Exhibits thoroughness in work and conscientiousness in detail-oriented tasks.
- Customer Service: Engages with clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Oral Communication: Effectively conveys information to various audiences, making clear presentations and responding to nonverbal cues.
- Problem Solving: Identifies issues, evaluates information accuracy, and utilizes sound judgment to propose and assess alternatives.
Additionally:
Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, including:
- Overseeing cybersecurity compliance and reporting for enterprise systems using VMWare and Operating System expertise.
- Managing cybersecurity projects to ensure systems are designed and implemented to maintain acceptable risk levels.
- Providing technical guidance on critical cybersecurity matters influencing IT policies.
- Conducting cybersecurity risk assessments in accordance with established frameworks.
- Executing assessment and authorization activities, tracking compliance, and performing in-depth security evaluations of complex systems.
Employment Conditions:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This role requires a Top Secret Clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is mandatory.
- This position is governed by the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires certification in the relevant Acquisition Functional Area.
- Designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position for specialty area 72 at the intermediate level.
- Occasional travel may be required.
