blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, microbiology, and manual tests.
The Scientist obtains or receives specimens, performs laboratory tests following established procedures, comprehends methods and principles, conducts and evaluates quality control daily, and informs the Administrative Director or Manager of any issues.
The scientist performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, interprets results regarding their accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and organizes work to meet established deadlines while recording all data obtained.
Collaborating actively and cooperatively with nursing and other hospital staff is essential to ensure timely patient care.Our team is exceptional; we consider ourselves a family who works diligently to support one another, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to meaningful patient care.
You will apply troubleshooting skills as necessary to ensure the continuous operation of laboratory equipment.You will ensure that proficiency testing is conducted and reported according to established procedures.
You will assist laboratory staff and patient care personnel in executing laboratory-related tasks and procedures.
A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution; completion of three years of academic study with a minimum of 90 semester hours at an accredited college or university in a curriculum involving biological or physical science, and at least 12 months of training at a school of medical technology approved by a national accrediting agency, along with passing a national examination for certification approved by the State Board; or a Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, with at least one year of additional full-time experience or training in the specialty or subspecialty in which tests are performed, and passing a national examination for certification approved by the State Board.
Current State license (within six months of hire date) or provisional license per State regulations as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or
A General Supervisor license is required if working independently.
Generalist experience in all areas of the laboratory is preferred.
