Job Summary and Qualifications


The Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) is responsible for executing automated, semi-automated, and/or manual procedures under the guidance of a Clinical Laboratory Specialist.

The technician must exhibit proficiency in techniques and competency in the fields of bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, hematology, serology, chemistry, immunology, and immunohematology as required for the position.

Qualifications Required:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution as a Clinical Technician OR Successful completion of a program based on a course of study including chemistry, biology AND a structured curriculum in techniques used in the clinical laboratory.
- OR Have successfully completed 60 semester hours of academic credit including chemistry, biology, and a structured curriculum in techniques used in a clinical laboratory at an accredited institution.
- Must pass national certifying examination, ASCP or equivalent, and obtain State of Nevada Clinical Laboratory Technician certificate upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
