Position Overview:

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) support for the Technology Infrastructure division. Your expertise will guide senior leadership in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Technology Infrastructure team to ensure the accuracy of financial and business plans.
  • Engage with FP&A teams to convey business drivers and variances comprehensively.
  • Oversee operational expenditure (Opex) and headcount monitoring and reporting for the Technology Infrastructure sector.
  • Manage capital expenditure (Capex) tracking for software assets and equipment utilized in Technology infrastructure and application development.
  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of the total ownership cost for Technology services; offer insights on costing methodologies and service consumption across the organization.
  • Deliver a comprehensive performance overview for the Technology Infrastructure division.
  • Identify and implement process enhancement opportunities across all Infrastructure functions, FP&A, accounting, and other stakeholders to boost efficiency, reporting, and performance.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis utilizing sophisticated modeling scenarios with a significant degree of autonomy.
  • Develop and sustain advanced forecasting models; collaborate with business units to provide valuable insights.
  • Execute independent research and complex analytical projects involving modeling and forecasting to furnish senior management with definitive financial trend data and strategic advice.
  • Prepare intricate ad hoc reports such as acquisition analyses and cash flow forecasts to aid management decisions.
  • Comprehend and comply with the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, identifying risk-related issues for management escalation.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that mirrors the values of M&T Bank.
  • Uphold M&T internal control standards, ensuring timely resolution of internal and external audit findings along with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

May entail indirect supervisory duties.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or an Associate's degree with at least 7 years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions.
  • Thorough understanding of concepts and principles across multiple disciplines, including finance and accounting.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, modeling, querying, and visualization tools.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA).
  • Strong technical skills and advanced financial modeling capabilities.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a customer-focused and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate cross-functionally, and maintain self-motivation in a dynamic technology environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting with a high level of personal accountability.
  • Self-starter with high energy, creativity, relentless customer focus, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
M&T Bank is dedicated to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation for our employees. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $141,840.07 annually (USD). The successful candidate's specific compensation will be determined based on their unique combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
