As a Patient Access Representative Associate at Optum, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience. Key Responsibilities:- Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive first impression of our organization.
- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Check in or interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
- Assist with scheduling add-on appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers, interpreting results and communicating with patients as needed.
- Collect co-pays or deductibles, responding to patient inquiries regarding financial assistance programs.
- Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assist patients in completing request for information forms, submitting them to the appropriate department.
- Gather medical record information from various departments, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or hospital setting.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work within the 2:30pm-11:00pm shift Monday – Friday.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
- Ability to work other shifts as business requires.
- Revenue Cycle Experience.
- Epic experience.
