Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative Associate to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring seamless registration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive first impression of our organization.
  • Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Check in and interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Assist with scheduling add-on appointments and resolving claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information, interpreting results to ensure accurate billing.
  • Collect co-pays or deductibles, explaining financial assistance programs available to patients.
  • Screen and approve patients for financial assistance programs, providing guidance on application processes.
  • Provide technical or functional direction to employees, ensuring high-quality patient service.

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or hospital setting.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts, 72 hours every two weeks, starting at 2:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:30pm (rotational basis).
  • Ability to work every other weekend, within the same hours.
  • Ability to work standard daytime hours during the training schedule, for the first 3 weeks upon starting.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Revenue Cycle experience.
  • General office experience.
  • Epic experience.
